On March 2nd, Malmö Roddklubb opened its doors to the community for an inspiring and educational Open Day, bringing together rowing enthusiasts of all levels to share their passion for the sport. The event, held under the RAEX (Rowing Against Exclusion) initiative, focused on promoting gender-collaborative training and making rowing more inclusive and accessible for all.
An Open Day Full of Learning and Fun
From beginners taking their first strokes on the water to experienced rowers refining their technique, the Open Day provided something for everyone. RAEX coaches were on hand to offer expert guidance, teaching essential rowing skills while emphasizing teamwork, synchronization, and inclusivity.
Throughout the day, participants had the chance to:
✅ Learn the basics of rowing – Understanding technique, balance, and coordination
✅ Engage in mixed training sessions – Promoting gender collaboration in sports
✅ Gain expert insights – Valuable tips from experienced RAEX coaches
✅ Experience the joy of rowing together – Building connections and breaking barriers
A Step Toward Inclusive Rowing
The Open Day was not just about learning the sport—it was about embracing the values of RAEX, where rowing is seen as a continuum of abilities rather than a gender-divided activity. By training together, participants experienced first-hand how rowing can unite people of different backgrounds and abilities.
Thank You to All Who Joined!
A huge thank you to everyone who participated, the dedicated coaches, and Malmö Roddklubb for hosting such a fantastic event! The energy, enthusiasm, and shared passion for rowing made this Open Day a true success.
Let’s keep the momentum going—more events, more training, and more opportunities to row together! 🚣♀️💙
